Meber and Socomec bandsaws - any good?

Hi all,

any knowledge of Meber and Socomec bandsaws out there? I am considering a replacement for my Startrite 301. I want more depth of cut and more power.

There is a Meber SR600 on Ebay which looks good quality but probably too large for my workshop. My ply on wooden joist floor might not be strong enough if it is as massive as it looks.

I have never heard of Socomec before!

Hven't heard of Socomec, but Meber are one of the quality Italian makes.
