Mawhood chisels

I've just picked up these for £22, was it a good buy?

What information l've been able to find on Mawhood suggests they were good?

Try your picture again. Yes, nothing much wrong with Mawhood, and you can recognise the palm tree sometimes without the name being clear.

Did Sheffield make any bad chisels ?

I've a non-mawhood chisel with a palm tree on it. Name will come to me or I might have to go on a hunt for it.

I'll try again to post up the picture.

Just had a quick go at sharpening one of them, seem to come up good, I can't wait to try them in the workshop tomorrow.

Just missing the 1" chisel, I'll have to keep my eye out for one to complete the set.

I have a nice Mawhood chisel. Also sometimes people call them "parasol" brand, I am not sure if this from a misidentified palm tree or a different brand they offered.

As MrP says though, I've never had a bad Sheffield chisel, even the ones from the 60s-80s seem good. Pleasingly the modern ones seem to equal the old in quality as well, at least in my experience.
