The scene is a local field (Marldon) and I took the photograph around 25 years ago and is typical of Devon county with the red clay soil. The painting is freehand and no part of the original photograph is used. This computer painting is so convenient, no need to get out the oil paints and brushes or easel etc. Just use a stylus instead of a mouse and painter x5 .

Beautiful, well done. I thought it was a photograph and had to read your post three times to be sure.
 
Pleased to learn it is liked but I keep returning and adding things, barbed wire, more leaves. :)

Treating this painting as a work in progress. wip.

Added a gypsy caravan which was stationed in the next field and working an asparagus crop, comes each year he said t the time.
