machine thicknessing to 6mm

My friendly and cooperative neighbour is going to give me a task later in the week, he wants some timber planed down to 6mm thickness. My thicknesser recommends 9mm minimum.
Can anyone please advise on a sled design or give me a link to a web posting of this genre.

I made mine about a metre long from some 15mm mdf, slightly narrower than the cutter block, with a piece of thin stuff (birch ply) glued squarely across one end - Rob

It the end you feed you wood in from so that the board doesnot got pushed though
