I used to do some wood turning back in my schooldays and now hubby has given me the go ahead for a small lathe. I'm looking for something to make lacemaking bobbins with but I reall don't know what is best.

I have seen a Clark 240V which takes pieces up to 20" but this seems a bit big for what I have in mind.

Can anyone advise me on there thoughts?

Thanks

Mez

Hi Mezza, welcome to the forum.

Have a look at some of the small lathes that Axminster do such as this one

If you want a quite versatile smallish lathe, there is a Tyme Cub on Ebay at the moment that looks pretty good. The only problem I know of with them is that the thread on the headstock is an unusual one (and it's different from the same manufacturer's Avon, which I have)

Thank you for the help. I'm just getting the finances sorted for it, which should be by the end of the month at the latest then yeah I will have my lathe.
I reckon that gives me enough time to do some reading done so I'm ready to have a play.

Many Thanks

Mez
