Hi,

Im looking at buying this router. Something is confusing me though.

There seems to be two version one advertised as 2000w or the other advertised as 2400w.
Is it the case they are all 2000w motors with 400w being dedicated for other electronic management stuff?

I asked someone who was selling one about whether the particular model was 2000 or 2400w version and they told me its a 2400 electronically controlled motor. I wasnt sure that meant it driven by 2400w power though? Controlled and driven seem slightly different terms.

Can anyone help with my confusion?

Help is appreciated thank you.

I'm sure I've seen power tools with 2 figures. One for power in and one for power out. Maybe that could be it?

There's only one model which is 2400w input. The 2000w is either a typo or the wattage output. No machine can have the same input and output wattage as that would indicate 100% efficiency - an impossibility.

One point to watch for is that you get the latest stock as they've only relatively recently added the above table micro adjuster facility to this model. They may well be old stock still around without this upgrade. The latest machines should come with micro winder & winder handle rack & pinion.

I suppose it might be the wattage output, many of the online places selling these advertise it as 2000w, id say its around 50/50 which is why im so confused.

Sure

Below you have it advertised correctly, but the price seems more like that of the trb001. I'd hate to buy something and have to return it because they got the models mixed up.

I think the ebay sellers are where you find more confusion. I usually would avoid ebay but this routers not on sale in that many places and the prices are quite good.

Yes it's a bit of a muddle but I'm sure there's only one model with a later upgrade to "through the table" adjuster.

I see one of you links is advertising 2000w and 3 1/4 HP. well 745 watts = 1hp so 3.25 x 745 = 2427 watts :)

I think it's all down to confusion - that's all.

Thanks again. I suppose ill just have to be careful, the cheaper they are the more worried I get about the description matching what im actually after.

well that above table adjuster is worth a lot - main reason for buying Triton (and it does work well too) so be sure that whatever you buy has got it.

I've got the MOF001 but it didn't come with the accessories and buying it separately cost a wee bit.
