Has anyone else made one of these with more than four studs?.
If so do you think it a worthwhile mod.

Main reason for asking is that although in theory more holding points would be better, the sharper arcs required to fit eight in would mean a higher "gear ratio" on the scroll and I think possibly less easy to adjust/clamp.

Made this one by the way just so that the routers would stop pining.
(or was it because someone asked why there were still so many in the tool cupboard not being used)

Back Plate is made out of 18mm ply with a tapered socket to fit the Nova Jaws. it also serves as a mount for a doughnut style chuck.

This was made from a layout in the American mag Woodturning Design. It has 6 studs.

Thanks, that certainly looks more secure on the holding front, although I have not had anything come adrift so far in the 4 spigot version I will have a another go at similar as it can only be an improvement.
