The pine clocks I make some of them I colour wash them with emulsion paint mainly white and duck egg blue the paint is ok but hard to apply evenly and penetration not great , I been looking at these dyes and wondered if anyone has used them , the effect im after is a colour tone but with grain pattern showing through

I just seen them half price 17.00 for 8 15ml bottles on amazon as opposed to 38 pounds full price on axminster
