LED lighting

I am very much in the dark with this subject and anything to do with electric I try to avoid. However. I am in the process of making a new display unit where I display the things I make at craft fairs. To make the display more interesting and also to attract customers to my stall I thought I would incorporate some LED lighting. I have seen some amazing displays in the past. I was wondering if I could have a set up where the lights change colour and maybe even flash. I have no idea what I would need to set it all up. I feel I would need roughly 8 metres of the strips. Any advice would be greatly received.

Can run from 230v. Or direct from 12v. Colour changing or static colours. Low power. Flexible with self ashesive backing. Easy to cut and connect (via small cheap connectors).

Self adhesive, easy to install, only used the white though.

I've only used white and under kitchen wall cupboards, low voltage and the easiest I've ever installed came in 300mm strips with connectors and could bend around the corners gives off a tremendous light as well.

Chippygeoff...I'd caution against making the display too much 'in your face'....flashing lights etc else it detract from your items on show.
