Large diameter dowelling

Can anyone please suggest a source for 44mm and 62mm diameter dowelling in clear softwood? The 44mm max length would be 2m and total required aprox. 10m. The 62mm max length 3.6m, total required approx. 20m. A small flat on the back would be acceptable.

Roger, you lot must be giants up thats way, 3600 x 63mm broom handles :shock:

Have to word with Howdens, they may have handrail to those sizes, or pretty simular.

What about wooden curtain rod? Don't know about price, but have bought them while in France (cheap as chips IIRC) instead of the same sized dowel, for a garden project.

Your best bet for 44mm is mopstick handrail but it does tend to have a flat on the bottom for the brackets to attach to. I have no idea where you would find 62mm, sounds like a specialist turning job to me
