I won a bootfull of laburnum on a well known auction website. and i mean a bootfull.

logs are 15" diameter about 2' long these have rotted in the centre but the outer section is still about 3" thick
other logs are about 6 - 9" in diameter and upto 24" long
the smaller branches range from 1" upto 2" and about 18" long.

i am hoping someoen can tell me how to look after my lovely stash so it doesnt all split and become pretty firewood!

thanks in advance

Store it in the dry, if it is subject to rain wet it will loose its sapwood to rot within 12 months.
Seal the ends of the logs ASAP

There is a note about storing/drying wood in the help sticky.

I had some Lab where i thought it was just the pith area that had rot but when i cut it up it was most of the log so it was given away for firewood, but savewhat you can as itsa lovely wood to turn.
