Hi all.
Just joined this site as there seems to be a lot of knowledge here. I like knowledge! Hope I can add to it!
In the meantime...
I have bought a 637 Planer from a guy who had it sat in his rather dank garage, doing nothing. It was little used, but in need of TLC
I have stripped this down to a bare frame, repainted and rebuilt it with new belts and bearings.
I have photographed the rebuild and may post the pics on a web site if there's any interest.
My first question is that on all the 637s I have see they is a small lever on the same face as the elevating handle. I do not have this. What is it for and how does it work? Like everyone else I don't have the manual.
I'm assuming it has something to do with locking the elevating system?
Secondly, my cutter block is slightly out of true at the pulley end, 0.2mm, which doesn't sound much but makes the belt flap about.
Is anyone aware of who may have any spares (ie the cutter block or even a scrap machine)?
