hi everyone, it's my first post and I'm looking for help. I've just purchased a kitty 5 saw it's a few years old but all working. The legs are pressed steel and painted grey with a wooden table top, Guards and add ons are yellow. What I need is an instruction manual does anyone have one or know where I can download a PDF of one.

Hello and welcome. Lons has a fair amount of knowledge on these and will do doubt be along sometime soon,
and pass on the instructions that he has.

I believe The earliest Woodmen K5, had a white, splay legged base and white machinery, with, as you say yellow guarding.
The motor has a year on the plate, on it's side, inside.
which means taking off any drive belt and looking between the motor and saw base it's attached to, a small mirror will be handy!
Spares are very rare but the machines go on very well and suffer from neglect and non use mostly.
Saw blades and planer cutter's are still available
The early spindle shaft is rather small at 15mm, and has to be said the slotted collar system is rather dangerous!
The next later Woodmen K5,(All made by Kity) had square larger legged base still white, and the guarding either yellow or red, With the spindle shafting now 20mm.
They don't fetch big money, but for smaller jobs, are very useful indeed.

Did you get any "extra's with you're K5, morticer, box comber etc.
May I ask if you're keeping it? Regards Rodders

Because I like mine and have hours of fun on it for not a lot of money.
And would hope that some others would too. Regards Rodders

Ps, As you have the 20mm spindle shafting It's possible to get a "safety" cutter block to fit. Rodders

Thanks Rod I'm sure I will as I said I'm new to this, so I'm not sure what a box comber is or a safety cutter block. There are a few bit that came with it that I'm not sure about or even if they belong with the kit, hence the need for the manual. I'm cleaning ever ting up at the moment but may post pics once it's done,

Lons is on another Kity K5 thread that people ask for manuals.
As he has suggested the person send him a pm, with his address,
I suggest you contact him with with you're e mail address.
It seems that he keeps an eye on the other thread.
