if building your own cabinets, what method do you use for hanging?
I have never been a fan of the small plasticy things you get on a b&q job with the metal cleats
would prefer a more reliable\stronger option
my walls are far from flat

A French cleat is one obvious way.

You can screw them to the wall

just fit "nailers" behind the backing board?
I could then shim behind to get level
french cleats is an option, but does take up an inch at least behind unit

Concealed wall cabinet hangers on a rail. Blum do some nice ones or there are cheaper alternatives

If your building your own cabs just put a decent ply back on it and you can screw them straight to the wall wherever you want.
