While out and about today i grabbed a pack of these.... http://www.rolsontools.com/4pc-carpente ... pener.html they'll be handy i thought....

got home :D

finally managed to get into the packaging

sharpened the first one... snap... the end broke off... try again... snap... try again... snap...

"I know, try another pencil...." (read the previous line but replace with 'the second one')

is it me just me..??

I know it was only £1.95, but its just not worth the effort (time/petrol etc) of going back and complaining

am now trying to find a contact point for them and draft an email telling them just the same.....

Personally I avoid any 'tools' sold under the brands of Rolson, Amtech, Toolzone, Silverline, Faithful, and a few others I can't remember offhand.

Have you tried traditional sharpening methods?

A Stanley knife, for instance? :-D

You've got more sense than me. I needed some 240g velcro backed abrasive. There wasn't much choice in the size so I thought Silverline - how bad could it be? I'm throwing it out now, it stops cutting after a few seconds. I also bought some of their 'heavy duty' clamps. The screws are machined crooked. But they do work.

That's nothing. I spent £150 on (quite literally two pocketfuls of) these today.

They did throw in one of these for free though.
