identifying logs - advice sought

Hi All,

I've got hold of a few freshly cut logs to cut down on the bandsaw and dry out. I've not tried this before so will be a bit of an experiment, but would like to know what I'm working with. any thoughts?

The bark looks like some of the fruit trees like cherry?

Cherry.... make sure you remove the central pith and at least an inch each side of the centre.

The last three are definitely Cherry but the first two are not.

Hard to tell just what they are through all that lichen but poss. Sweet Chestnut.
