I have had two, one was fine and the other needed a little adjustment. The finish can be a little variable but that could also be operator error. I have found wax on the side helps a little.

I bought one thinking it was a quick and easy way to trim edge banding...WRONG. I never got the bl**dy thing to work properly. I don't think it is really made to work with the thin, iron-on type of edging. Anyway mine is quietly gathering dust while my block plane and sanding block do the job it was supposed to.
 
o right i had heard this from some one else as well.

what i been doing cutting strips of the raw veneer i have then gluing them on.

last one i did was onto chipboard. i knife it close
then metal file(maybe to course)
but you could still see white like it is taking to much off if that makes sense.

so basically i have trouble with knife, its following the grain and leaving over hang, then i cant get it flush, dont know weather its because i am not using end grain veneer using the stuff you are ment to put on the front
