I have a quantity of these canvas stretchers bought cheap all one size
How would you cut the 45’s and tongues and slots?
To make smaller lengths
I have most equipment i think but just interested in how others may do it?

That first one tricks the eye! I thought the top was beveled in.

For the tongues, I think I would knock up a router tenon type jig,but modified to create a 45

For the grooves, I think I would cut them using a spline/tenon type jig, and then cut the 45 after.

I'd cut the 45 with my combi square and knifewall method then tenon saw, but if you were going to use handtools may as well do the whole thing with hand tools from the start including stock preparation with face/edge marks.

Depends how many you're doing, and what kit you have. Half a dozen or so?..........I'd do that with hand tools. Much more than that, I'd be looking at some sort of jig for the kit I've got, which would maybe mean cutting the cheeks on the bandsaw, for instance.
