Not sure how you'd remove it but to avoid it in future you could mask-off where you're going to apply the colour and seal the adjacent wood to reduce the risk. Better still, colour all the pieces before you cut and assemble (I'm assuming blue and white are going to be applied as well).

I did mask it but for some reason it still went through I am beggining to wish i had done as you suggested now and done them all before i cut.
