Is 42 + years enough time to make the decision that a project is not likely to come to fruition?

Wound and assembled this sometime in 1975 with the strong intention of putting together a spot welding and Silver Soldering rig.

Think it must be as it's getting difficult to even lift the darn thing.

theres some scrap copper and iron in there. Enough value to buy a ready made station I suspect.

No point in burning yourself out too early. You haven't forgotten about it yet, so another 15 years won't make any difference.

That's the same age as me and it looks in better condition to be fair. I'm crumbling far quicker.

Monday mornings I can be as much as 57 Naz. You should try abseiling for a living it's a dream job.

Perhaps you should also have been plugged into 240 Volts occasionally to rejuvenate.

I've got to treat these to a little tickle of the electrons over the next few days to make sure they are rejuvenated, mind you any that don't make the grade end up in the garbage bin so there is always a risk with the process.

I just ordered my first capacitor off of Amazon... It comes under the topic of 'things I don't know what I'm doing with'.

The low voltage DC Electrolytics are quite friendly (except to screwdriver blades etc.) it's the 350-400V devils for the Valved Amps that can bring a sparkle to the eyes somewhat if you poke fingers in the wrong place.

This makes my 25 years to mole plough in a cable to run a water pump to make a hose run at a sensible pressure seem like just a blink of an eye. I'll feel a lot better now when SWMBO has a whinge.

Cheers - Chris
