How long is my dust extraction hose??!!

Hi all,

I've just bought 3 m of 100mm dia dust extraction hose off the bay. Or at least I thought I had. At its relaxed length as it sits on the floor it only measures 1.8m. So. Have they sent me the 2m length or is the "measured" length measured with the hose stretched out!

I have only ever bought 100mm (and 63mm) hose from Axminster, but on each occasion it is the length as advertised when laid out on the floor relaxed with no stretching of the steel reinforcing. I.E. 3metre hose is 3 metre long as taken out of the box.

I'm sure the last lot I bought from Rutlands has to be stretched to get the advertised length.

Give it a day to settle in a warmish environment, and if it still only measures 1.8M then I'd definitely complain.

Depends what you bought, I have this stretch stuff, in its relaxed state its 5ft long, but it stretches easily to 20ft. Its a great bit of kit. Is yours like that? The Axminster stuff is very rigid and if it says its 3m it should be 3m relaxed.

Yeah its from Rutlands, its so good I've bought it twice!
