How long do your blades stay sharp?

I suspect that that is what Terry Gordon uses for his handplanes. The HNT Gordon's that I have are made of Ironwood. I did once hear of someone building a sideboard out of this stuff. My eyebrows were raised high indeed. There are less masochistic ways of spending your time.

Keep it for tools.

Thanks, Derek - will do! I quite fancy having a go at a HNT-style shoulder plane

I guess I don't have to worry too much about wear & tear on the floor! :lol:
