It would have been more claustrophobic if they had not cut that door into the side and you had to get in via a hatch and ladder. Also the noise from a pair of 2000Hp 8 cylinder diesels would have been noisy to say the least. My Dad served on one of the sister boats, the Aurrochs on which he was onboard in 1953 at the queens review of the fleet at portsmouth, poor old Charles really does not have a fleet to review following his coronation !
