Hi Folks,

I've got Sketchup v8 freebie version and have drawn a simple plan of the kids judo club, with a view to applying for permission for an extension.
I need to print the 27.5m x 18.5m building to 1:50 on A1 paper. So far so good.
I've set all the parameters as per the instructions, (Parallel Projection, paper to A1, Scale 1:50), but when I print preview, no matter where I locate the image on the screen, I cannot get it to show on one page - it keeps pushing it across two pages or more. (hammer)

Any wizard ideas out there?

Thanks in advance.

Greg

Adjust the shape of the drawing window to closely fit the plan after using Zoom Extents to get it to be as large as possible. Then go through the setup.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion.
I'm not sure I've managed to do what you suggest, but I end up with half on one page, half on the next.
I've done sceen shots to try and explain.
Hopefully you'll be able to suss out a solution!
Thanks again
Greg

According to your screen shots, you missed an important step. Make the drawing window narrower. Un-maximise it and drag the right edge toward the left until the plan and dimension just fits within the window. Move that toolbar in the second row over and up to the top row, first. That will help with the drawing window proportions.

If you don't want to waste coloured ink, reverse the faces in your plan.

It's much easier to do this with sketchup pro because the scaled view can be created easily in layout without having to adjust the size of the sketchup window.

B,

Thank you very much for your patience - I think I'm doing what you say and it is getting achingly close.
(I've squished and squashed and moved and all sorts and this is as close as I get). THis is the existing plan and I need to add an 8m extension at the rear, (top of screen), so am totally flummoxed as to how that can be done and still be printable;

B,
I've done yet more playing around with the setup of the print area and I MAY, (I do say MAY) have sussed it. I'll test another plan to see if it's worked repeatably and report back.
Many thanks again for your invaluable help.
Greg
