It's a mitre box saw - a bit like an early Nobex - the folded back would run in a guide and usually the guides were adjustable to preset angles - if you look at the 1920's (Mathieson I think) catalogue on the Toolemera site free download you will be able to find similar saws and mitre box frames, Stanley did one, so did several other makers.

There are also carcass saws for cutting e.g. dado grooves - which look similar - but are not quite so long as this example.
Still an eminently usable saw if you make up a plywood or similar mitre box for it.

Fairly old,... mid 1800s maybe,... split nuts, so called "London pattern" handle, mitre box saw,... looks great!
