Hi all.

I found this item in a small box in the loft, looks old and well worn. The brass case is 1 inch long, approx 1/2 inch wide and 1/4 inch thick (25 x 12 x 6 mm) inscribed on the brass case is JMN REG No. 385688 the caliper type hook things extend out just a fraction past flat, say 185 degrees where there is a stop to prevent them going any further. the points are as sharp as fish hooks. and there are two sets of them stored in the case.

I know they are not worth much, a set sold on ebay last DEC for a fiver, I'm just baffled as to what they were used for.

These and those I bought on the bay for a fiver are most definitely clips for holding tight the bottoms of your trousers when cycling. The original bike clips 8)
A few years ago some tool dealers at David Stanley's Auction had some for sale along with a print out of the original advertising etc.

Hope this helps.
Cheers

Cleared up in a couple of hours! Amazing font of knowledge this place. And to happen across the one person who bought the only other set I have ever seen!

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity.
