I just got some Hard Maple, happens to be from Canada...... eh........ and I was wondering what you all pay for it.
I'm in Japan, so take that into account, but I did go to the wholesaler and get this stuff, not some "Shop" ( I can do that, as I own a business).
Some pics of the wood.......
The stack, there is about $370 US of wood sitting there, most of it is around 6 to 7 cm thick, not the usual 2 to 3 cm, so I paid more for the thicker stuff.
This is a large piece of Japanese Ash (Tamo) which was a cut off I got really cheap!
I could not help myself, I cut up the short off cut pieces and then turned that little snowman.
So, I paid about $9.35 US a board foot (4.54 GBP).
Like I said, I know I'm paying a lot for wood here in Japan, but at least it is NICE wood, and boy does it turn good!
Cheers!
