Hand Carved Bowl

Hi, Chaps
I was given a load of wood its a bit of a sad tale a neighbours Grandfather passed away and had some of nice hard wood in a shed , Teak Mahogany etc. He worked in the far east and had trees cut down planked and shipped home, I got the last bits he never used, some very nice stuff.

So as a thank you gift for them I made this bowl from one of the planks, I am not to sure what wood it is.

They where very pleased with it which is what matters to me.

Very nice bowl indeed, makes a perfect thankyou. The wood looks a little bit like anjan, only a bit lighter than the stuff I have seen. Was it hard to carve?

The top is very nice, adding unseen detail to the bottom shows you are a true craftsman.

Thanks, it was fairly easy to carve, it was quite light in colour until I gave it a coat of Danish Oil.
