Hi and merry xmas,

I've had some oak stored outside under tarpaulin's, there are a couple of spots where there is Black Mould on it, I don't want to sand it out, I was thinking of using Mould killer...anyone any other ideas..

Thanks in advance

Hi and Merry Xmas to you as well.

I doubt it is mould but more likely the reaction of iron of some description and the tannin in the oak. Oxalic acid can usually bleach it out.

But if the oak hasn't been prepared yet then you'll most likely lose it anyway as you plane it etc.
