Hi there, I want to make a cabinet with a front panel that lifts up from the bottom so that it is perpendicular with but just underneath the top, and then that slides in under the top to be stored away. This would need some sort of pivot to be attached to the front panel, with some sort of housing for it to pivot in and then slide into. I have no idea what this system would be called or whether there are housings or rollers or similar that you could use for this. Can anyone advise? Thanks v much Andy

Look for barrister bookcase mechanisms. Usually only available from the US
I've just been making 14 such cabinets that you describe but being a metalworker, I designed and made my own runners using brass angle and miniature needle roller bearings.
And before you ask, no I don't have any left over, sorry.

All written up on the woodhaven2 forum.
