We have two remote keys for our car but a couple of weeks ago my wife's key would not open the car so she took mine ( as I am able to get in the car quicker than she before the alarm goes off apparently) I tried changing the battery but still it would not work.
Then reading the handbook that came with the car it told how to program up to 8 new remotes for the car. I know mine wasn't a new key but tried it anyway. Close all doors, fasten seat belt, insert the key and turn to position 2 twice within 6 seconds then turn to O then press any button and a tone sounds to show it is now programmed. Great, it now locks and unlocks with the remote.
My wife now went out in the car which was unlocked at the time, and now that remote would not work when she same to lock the car.
I then went through the same procedure as I had done with the other key but it will not reprogramme it.
Anybody got any idea what I've done   and how to get out of it.

Alan.

Had to have another fiddle. Went through the same procedure again with the non working key and eventually it worked.
problem is, the other key now will not open the door remotely.    Looks like a Ford garage visit.

Alan.

You have to program the car to accept all the keys you want to use in the same programming session. You have the right method, just do all the keys at the same time.
