finishing with CA glue

Hello, New to woodworking and i am going to start with a few pens, I have been watching a few finishing techniques, Is the superglue i've seen being used the same as normal CA adhesive?

Woodworking CA glue seems to be twice the price of other glues.

Whats good apart from the price is that its very thin. One presumes the reason its so cheap is there is hardly any of the actual compound in the mixture. This makes it runny but for wood finishing, you want runny happily enough.
