Hi, this is my first post I found this site while trying to research options of finishing my new staircase.
I am currently trying to sand the wood to a smooth finish and remove any imperfections, however I am unsure what product to apply next.
I want to enhance the grain and natural beauty of the wood but don't want to make it too dark in the process. I was recommended some Danish Oil so I tried that on an offcut I have, but found it looks much darker than the article showed.
Ant advice greatly appreciated as it's the first time I've done something like this, and considering the cost of the staircase I don't want to mess it up. I will try to post a couple of pictures.
