Hello woodspinners,,,
Idling my retirement away,,,,in the shed,,,with the wife out at work,,,
Thought I might sharpen a saw or two,, found some triangular saw files,,,Oh b,,,,r!! no handles,,,,,,thought I will turn a couple of handles,,,
A few hours and a few handles later,,,happy as Larry,,,I thought the last one looked like a bar beer pump handle ,,and realised how thirsty I had become,,,
So off to the local hostelry for a small liquid refreshment and one of Betty the barmaids specials (pork pie and salad),,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,
Just been escorted home by Betty ,,,,,,,,,,,,
Before Betty left she said she had put a nice white oak bowl on a faceplate on the lathe "cos she said the wife will like that when she gets home about five o"clock,,,,
,,,just spent some time trying to find some white oak shavings to sprinkle about on the floor,,,,
Gonna have forty winks now,,,"cos its been a hard day,,,,
Might sharpen a saw or two tomorrow,,,,,,
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,joe,,,,

Good grief, Betty sounds like one special barmaid. Not only escort you home, but voluntarily sort you out an alibi?

If I ever make it to Colchester, I'll be asking for an introduction, I'd like to shake that lassie's hand!

Hope you leave a big tip next time you're there :D
