My 240v Festool Kapex has just burned up for the second time in 5 years. First time it was 2 years old and repaired under warranty now 3 years later it has happened again.

The 110v Kapex motors in America seem to burn out quite often according to the Festool Owners Group but just wondered what experience people have had of the 240v in the UK?

I see Kapex on ebay for spares or repair quite often so must be a problem.

Obviously not happy and guess looking at £250 for a repair, the saw is mint apart from the motor. It's only used by me mainly in workshop and never used hard.

Anybody got any experience or thoughts on this?

Thanks, Doug

I would talk to festool first, they are normally helpful
I would possibly suggest that there is still a fault with your saw that caused the motor to die the first time
worth a try and sale of goods act may give you 6 yrs disregarding the warranty term
