So I've recently been asked some questions about my family and decided that it would be a good idea to do a family tree as I'll some info to add.

I've "Discovered" that my Great Great Granddad was a "cabinet maker (four)" what does the 4 mean?

I should add this would have been around 1850 - 1900 in dundee if that makes any difference

Ryan,
having spent some months doing my own research, I found most help on a site called Rootschat. They seem to have specialists in every area.
They're very friendly, helpful and have an amazing collective knowledge.

But do you have any skeletons in your cupboard as the saying goes, I started mine a few years ago and fond out that my great great great great grandfather murdered his wife with arsenic and was than hung at lancaster castle which no-one in my family knew about so watch out you never know what you might find

I wonder if there was a spelling hiccup somewhere along the way and it was short for G-G-Granddad being a foreman? Just a thought.
