Heyup chaps and chapesses

I've just been reading the Dust Masks and other protection thread and realised I need to ask a similar question but didn't want to hijack

I need to clear out a cellar that's been left for some time and after poking around in there yesterday, I could definitely smell/taste that particular musky odour you get from mould, so, I need a mask

Anyone got any recommendations a suitable mask that's effective against mould spores ?

Cheers Nev, my solution with mould in my compost is to turn away - quite effective, but I can't do that in an enclosed space

Quite ironic really, that I ask about a face mask, as I smoke like a trooper - probably haven't got the lung power to breathe in enough spores to kill myself off :)

and even with postage, they are cheaper than screwfix

I have almost decided on http://www.screwfix.com/p/3m-4279-maint ... r-p3/66074 but at those prices, will use your link, thanks a lot
How much? For a throw away mask?

You could get a 3m 6/7000 series with the appropriate filters for less than that, and you get to keep the mask for another day. :)

Just get one for your size face

the 3mdirect website has good prices as well

looks like the 3m 4255 is for me - supposed to filter down to 5000ppm, the others only seem to go down to 1000ppm and I guess this is the figure I am looking for when it comes to spores ?
