extension cable

I have a startrite table saw run on a 16 am plug electric coming from the consumer unit to a 16 amp plug so my question is can i make a extension cable with a 2.5 cable from the 1st plug to my saw plug of about 25 feet ??

2.5mm cable will carry 20A so I don't see a problem. You can buy extension cables for this and they generally use 2.5mm cable.

Its not any kind of commercial premises? I believe extension cables can only be 110 volt if the place is open to outsiders. And of course be very careful to route it in such a way as not to be a trip hazard.
