During the refurbishment of our new house, I have changed every light fitting and bulb to LED - We have something like 60 downlights in the house now which use 240w of electricity, in the last house which was half the size the downlights in the Kitchen/Diner (10No) was 350w.
The initial outlay was obviously a lot higher, but that said we probably only paid £800.00 for the fittings and bulbs for the entire house.
We bought all our Lights and bulbs from CEF, who aren't the cheapest.
