Hi
I've recently got a dewalt DW701 SCMS. This is the one with the variable speed.

Now the saw is quite old, not surprisingly, but what happens is when you start it up it's quite slow for a few seconds till it comes up to speed. I was going to replace the brushes as a matter of course, but I'm wondering if it's another issue like the speed controller. The speed controller does work though.

Maybe this is just normal behaviour for this saw? I have got a dw707 without the speed control and that spins up straight away.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with this old timer.

Thanks

yes that's a good point thanks re the capacitor. I hadn't thought of that. Yes I will strip it down. Really I was just wondering if it's what it's supposed to be like. Bearing in mind it's quote old.
