I'm new here, new to any forum when it comes to that and I'm pretty inexperienced at bench joinery so please excuse any dumb questions or silly person mistakes.
I'm trying to buy a jointer/planer or possibly planer thicknesser. My budget's about £200 so I'm looking at the cheaper ones if I buy new or if possible a better quality one second hand.
I've seen a Dewalt 1150 planer thicknesser which looks as though it's had fairly light use does anybody have any experience with this model please or any suggestions?
What are the things one should check to guage the condition of a secondhand machine?
I've had a look at some of the other threads inc the one about forum members own machines and didn't see one mention of the DW1150...is that cos it's a pile of junk?
