Yes very close, I have been watching and waiting for some time for a reasonable one close to me.

I hope this one will not be a rotten apple. I have been reading on here a lot about recommendations for drill presses and that is what prompted me to buy this one. I know there is the return spring to be replaced and then the conversion from 3 to single phase but all still within my budget.

This drill was manufactured in 1971 according to Meddings. I found them very helpful and friendly. A new single phase motor with a 5/8 arbor is on its way as well as the quill return spring. ( a bit pricey but SWMBO does not need to know :roll: )

With the motor and the return spring replaced it will be in good working order but I have decided to spend some time, effort (and money) to restore it. The run out is negligible.
