Looks like possibly a Mancunia or Fobco. I doubt it will be a Pollard or Progress as it's single phase. I'd guess circa 1970-1973.

ignore single phase..not original motor

fitted with a hoover

there surely will be a name somewhere...when i rip it apart :D

it runs true and smooth

and was a bargain :)

A hoover? Do you have any pics of this strange setup?

Hoover FHP motors were fitted as standard on many small machines both single and three phase.
Very common on Progress drills

next question :D

what colour? and how do i remove the RED?

there is a nut \ bolt holding lid in place ...need another option please

it has a 1\2" chuck...can i risk a 16mm instead
only paid £50 so i think it deserves a refurb

Steve

You got me thinking there Beech. I've seen something similar to this years ago and now you mention it, that may have been American. Something like a Powermatic, Clausing or Buffalo.

I think it is a wandess
whatton & sons

not much info about though

wolverhampton
they made boring machines
and a lathe

thats all i know
