Advice please need to split a 1200mm radiator in to 2 600mm radiators due to splitting a room what I want to know is can I just connect the radiators in series with appropriate lock shield vales etc and use push fit plastic pip etc or is it there more to it than that

You could connect the radiators in series but when the TRV on one turns off it will be turning off both so you would lose separate room temperature control.

Just tee in to your existing pipes and run a new flow and return to the second rad, otherwise one will always control the other and vise versa.

Tee off from the existing flow & return and take a separate feed to each and a separate return to each.

If you have them in series with TVRs on each as soon a one room gets to temp it will shut off the flow to both rads, the only way to control them individually is as Above separate F&L.

Plus the fat that if you put them in series then the temperature of the water reaching the second rad won't be anywhere near hot enough probably as it will have lost heat in the first one!
