If it is a very valuable stone you could epoxy it into a box to hold the pieces together (without actually putting glue between the cracks)

Agreed...... a wooden box/frame will hold it together, but you will sacrifice the use of one side, however you should then need to re-flatten the surface of the user-side.

It'll be a good idea to sit it in a warm place for a few days first to remove as much residual moisture as you can to avoid compromising the epoxy bond.
 
I bought a similar one from AliExpress no way is it 10000 grit more like 4000 tops.

I get by with an Arkansas, probably something like 1,000G. That and a strop loaded with the green crayon. I still have finer stones but don't use them, even sold my 8,000 waterstone. Breaking a stone is unfortunate, not pleasant but it's not the end of the world. You can still get your edges sharp enough even if you have to use wet/dry for a while.
