Hello all,

I have a set of dining room chairs that I need to get the cushion seat out of. The videos online show screws or bolts in the braces that you need to remove, but these don't, they don't have any screws that I can see... do they just pop out normally? Obviously I don't want to break them trying...

Thanks,

P.

This is how I make my chairs, which is by far the most common way.

I make an insert from 9 or 12mm ply that's scribed so it just drops into the rebate that's been cut to receive it. I leave about an 0.75mm gap all around depending on the upholstery material. Once the seat bottom is upholstered installation is then a push fit.

Sometimes it can be quite a tight fit, so give a good shove from underneath to see if it pops out.

Pictures. As you can see, there is no screw holding them in...

Thanks... is that what it looks like to you from the photos I just posted?

There is a gap between the chair seat and that triangular piece in the corner, you could perhaps get a screwdriver in there to prise it out. I agree with the others it just looks like a push fit. Ian
Nice chairs custard
