De Walt planer thicknesser problem

I recently acquired a De Walt DW50 thicknesser planer and it seems to do a fairly good job but I have noticed that it produces a rippled or scalloped effect only on the last few inches of wood. Is this a known problem or is there a solution.

Just sounds like snipe to me. Relatively normal. There are ways around it but most people just live with it and machine stock longer than required to account for it.
