Well here it is, finished. At last. I thought that I would never finish in time.
The postman did not bring the magnet cylinder catches from Woodfit so they will
have to be fitted later.

There are a number of firsts contained within this project.
First hand cut hardwood dovetails, first frame and panel door (in fact first ever door)
first resaw and first attempt at laminating.
All the wood with the exception of the ply used in the chisel holder was recycled.

WIP photos, more and larger WIP photos can be seen here here

Resawing the board. I was somewhat apprehensive about this I am not keen to do this again.

Finished off the resaw with a proper saw!

Cylindrical loose tenons used for the door frame.

12 strips of walnut cut on the table saw and numbered

6 strips per handle. The plastic prevent to much glue ending up all over the place.

Hope you like it.

UKW recommend using a bandsaw. (Sorry, I'm in Mod safety mode)

Cheers

Hey Andy that's really nice - well done! I like the bookmatched panels.

Well done, Andy =D> - I really like the tilting action on the chisel holder, and the handles are very smart too! \:D/

Cheers,
Neil

really nice andy, only problem that i can see is where are you going to put the other chisels that you are on the slippery slope towards buying.

surely that can't be the only sharpening kit you have??????

you could of course have used a "bow saw" to re-saw, someone told me that was the way to go

paul

Nice design, very well-executed. I particularly like the solution for the tilting chisel rack.

Very nice Andy, well done. Great design, well thought out;something I would love to have hanging on my workshop wall.

What make are those chisels? I like the look of those.

Lee.
