:?: Newbie to the forum and woodworking, So Hello to you all.
My question is this, How do you clean the grease off a new table saw and what do you use to keep the surface smooth?
It is a cast iron top and the wood stickes as it goes over.
Also is it required to clean the blade if so with what?
Thank you in anticipation of some helpfull advise.

Hiya woodman

Welcome to the forum! :D

I used white spirit on mine. Went over it a couple of times to make sure all the gunk was off. Use a good quality paste wax to buff up the table to protect it.

White spirit on the blade too I guess (if it needs it - mine had no gunk on the blade)

Welcome Woodman

Paraffin will do the job on the table too.
If you have resin build up on the blade, the citrus type aerosol cleaners such as those sold by Screwfix are effective.

you can always use the spray degreasers sold in halfords etc, as long as
you close off the electrical connections part.
spray a puddle on the table, then move it around with a cloth,or old t shirt.

cmt used to make a resin crude remover for saws and routers.
which takes the work related resins off, worth having too.
