Hello,

Can anyone tell me whether any of the following children’s products:

rocking chair
cradle
walker
children’s tables and chairs

Are classified as toys for and therefore require CE certification?

If CE certification is not required, is there any compulsory certification / testing which is required before they are sold commercially?

Thanks

There are several toy trade and advice associations, drop them a line and get the answer in writing. Should you sell items that posses no CE mark that retrospectively require it, then showing intent to ensure compliance will assist (possibly).

I suspect however you will be advised to apply for CE as the generic advice from the above associations to the general public is to avoid anything resembling a toy without it. Also, unless you are selling direct you probably need to speak to your outlets as well.

Either way if I was in your shoes this would be my first step.

I'm no expert and I expect one will be along shortly, this is just my best guess with the info supplied.
